: The new owners are remodeling and did everything possible to compensate for the inconvenience. The location is perfect...close to train/bus, activities, dining and shopping. It was great having a refridge and microwave in the room.

  : Location was good
: The hotel is currently undergoing renovations which appear to be well-needed however it is currently not fit for guests. We arrived to a dirty reception area being painted by a staff member who had to go and find someone to assist us with checking in. We were warned that we would be fined $1300 on the spot if we triggered the fire alarm and when we said that we wouldn’t be smoking in the room so that should be fine, we were told that steam from the bathroom could also trigger the fire alarm. This was irrelevant anyway as there was no hot water in the room at all. We used the elevator to get to the third floor which was filthy and covered in building debris (plaster, rubber, paint chips) and it felt like it was going to break at any moment. Our room was dirty - there were 2 towels for 3 guests and a half used roll of toilet paper which we had to request more of. The bed was made with a bottom sheet and no top sheet, just an old fluffy polyester blanket with a top sheet on top of that. The room was also in the process of being repainted as shown in the picture attached. There was also an A4 sign on the bathroom door warning us again of the fine we would need to pay if the fire alarm was triggered. We arrived during the day after a cruise holiday and my husband wanted to rest but was unable to as there was loud power tools and machinery being used on the floors below.Given how unsafe the elevator felt, we used the stairs to get out of our room which were filthy and obstructed with buckets of paint and tools which were a clear hazard. The floors below had the doors to each room opened showing the furniture stacked up while the renovations continued and the hallways and carpet were all extremely dirty with building materials strewn about.I understand that renovations are messy but it seemed as though no vacuuming or any attempt to clean up during the process was occurring. A very unsafe, unwelcoming and disgusting environment that I was very glad to leave.
